The news has been leaked that President Trump has ordered the top brass at the Pentagon to start developing a large-scale military parade to take place at the capital.
The military parade has already started its beginning stages of development, however, the date has not been selected. Many officials are wanting to have the parade on a patriotic holiday. President Trump has been looking forward to the military parade ever since he visited France last year and witnessed both the French and American military take part in an annual Bastille Day military parade. “The marching orders were: I want a parade like the one in France.” “This is being worked at the highest levels of the military.”
Brainstorming is still taking place according to a senior White House official, and “right now, there’s really no meat on the bones.”
“President Trump is incredibly supportive of America’s great service members who risk their lives every day to keep our country safe,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has explained. “He has asked the Department of Defense to explore a celebration at which all Americans can show their appreciation.”
With President Donald Trump ordering the Department of Defense to start planning for a massive military parade, liberals had strong objections. They even resorted to comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler and Kim Jong Un.
Some, however, are determined to stop the parade dead in its tracks. Former Green Party Senate candidate and anti-war activist Arn Menconi has issued a call for people to stand in front of tanks, similar to the famous man standing in front of Chinese tanks during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests.
“The reason I am making this livestream and video is a call to action,” Menconi said in a Facebook Live video. “This is becoming an authoritarian state. We need a grassroots effort today.
“What I want people to do is to commit, just like I will, that we would go to Washington, D.C., if such a crazy, insane act occurred, and we would lay down in front of the tanks, just like the heroes and the courageous students did in China in 1989,” he continued.
Since posting the video, Menconi claims he has almost 50 people who would go with him to stand in front of the tanks:
We now have nearly 50 Americans who have signed on to lay in front of the tanks if Trump brings out a Military parade. We are not an empire drifting towards extinction. Will you join us? Here’s the call to action video https://t.co/gqxAoGJmAf
