Geraldo Returns From Puerto Rico, Blows Lid Off What’s Been Happening to Trump

on

The mainstream media has been undoubtably biased in the last months following the horrible tragedy in Puerto Rico after two massive hurricanes hit and how the President and his team have been taking care of things.

The residents of Puerto Rico have recently spoken up about the entire situation following the hurricanes and are extremely grateful for the amount of support and help Donald Trump has provided for them.

President Donald Trump made it a priority to visit the people of Puerto Rico to check out the amount of damage they were dealing with and aid the people who had been hit by the storm.

According to msmisdoa:

Geraldo Rivera explained to Fox & Friends on Friday that Trump was doing everything he could.

Rivera stated, “He has been getting the worst, most dishonest press about his visit to Puerto Rico. It is staggering to me how unfair — how grotesquely unfair — the reporting has been.”

Rivera actually has family that resides in Puerto Rico, and they witnessed for themselves Trump’s visit. They explained that 90 to 95 percent of the people President Trump met on his trip were enthusiastic about his visit.

Rivera explained on air that the media has a way of distorting the truth in order to fit their narrative. He gave a clear example when he spoke about Trump praising the island for their swift actions to make sure that Hurricane Maria had such a low death toll. (16 people died instead of 1,800 that died in Hurricane Katrina.) But, the mainstream media jumped at the chance to attack President Trump, claiming that he downplayed the loss of life.

Rivera stated that reports against President Trump in this case have been “fake news.” He explained that New York Times columnist Paul Krugman stated on Twitter that there was a cholera outbreak in Puerto Rico… this was 100% fake news.

President Trump tweeted on Friday to explain just how much support he had for the people of Puerto Rico.

“The wonderful people of Puerto Rico, with their unmatched spirit, know how bad things were before the H’s. I will always be with them!” Trump wrote.

Then, on Thursday, President Trump wrote that first responders would not be staying on the island forever. He was obviously trying to get a rise out of his enemies.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly stated on Thursday that Trump’s tweet actually shows the correct response to a disaster.

“I think he said the U.S. military and FEMA can’t be there forever. Right?” he questioned the reporter who was badgering him. “First responders. The minute you go anywhere as a first responder — and this would apply, certainly, to the military — you are trying very hard, working very hard to work yourself out of a job.”

Kelly explained that the response teams who came initially are actually supposed to be limited during their time spent dealing with any crisis location. This way, they can be sent to the next disaster when it comes.

“There will be a period in which — we hope sooner rather than later — to where the U.S. military and FEMA, generally speaking, can withdraw because then the government and the people of Puerto Rico are recovering sufficiently to start the process of rebuilding. So this country, our country will stand with those American citizens in Puerto Rico until the job is done. But the tweet about FEMA and DOD — read: military — is exactly accurate. They’re not going to be there forever, and the whole point is to start to work yourself out of a job and then transition to the rebuilding process,” he continued.

The truth of the matter is that President Trump and his administration have been doing everything they can in order to help the people of Puerto Rico. The mainstream liberal media has chosen to constantly twist the truth in order to fit their sick narrative.

It’s time for news outlets to stop being so biased and give the President the respect he deserves.
