Disrespectful NFL players are influencing the younger generation with their choice to protest during the national anthem and the cost is much higher than that of their so called ‘idols.’
Continued protests on the football field have spread down to college and high school football players felling the need to protest ‘oppression’ as well. In reality these kids are simply doing and acting the way the men they look up to are, and this is the pathetic result of a bunch of over privileged grown babies influencing kids to act out and the results are loss of the opportunities NFL players have themselves. These players need to realize that their actions have consequences and while they might have the financial means and career to handle the backlash, the children who admire them are not as lucky.
Gyree Durante, a sophomore at the college, is the team’s backup quarterback. For the past two weeks, he has chosen to kneel during the National Anthem. Prior to this past week’s game, however, the team chose to kneel during the coin toss, to avoid showing disrespect to the anthem. Durante chose to kneel again anyway.
As a result, Durante was kicked off the team. There is no word if any other disciplinary action was taken.
In response to his removal from the team Durante had this to say:
‘I was taught you fight for what you believe in and you don’t bow to anyone.’
‘At some point in life, there’s going to be a time when you’ve got to take a stand,’ Gyree Durante told NBC 10 TV.
‘For me it just happened to be on Saturday afternoon.’
Ironic that Durante believes at some point in life you have to ‘take a stand’ while refusing to stand at a point in life where you are suppose to STAND!
