Former president, Jimmy Carter, reveals his true feelings about Trump and the current actions of the Democratic Party and it may not be what you had in mind.
Both Obama and Bush have made their hatred of Donald Trump as president very clear but they aren’t the only former presidents who have an opinion to voice. Jimmy Carter may be a democrat but that doesn’t mean he always sides with his own party which is evident in the wake of the 2016 presidential election where he chose to defy his own party after the DNC decided to back Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders.
In a recent interview Jimmy Carter was questioned about his personal opinions regarding President Trump and current events to which he astonishingly came to Trumps defense while simultaneously ‘bad mouthing’ the rest of his fellow former presidents.
Jimmy Carter believes that standing for the national anthem should be a given and any rights to protest should occur during some other period of time, and his Alain thinks the claims that Russia had any effect on the outcome of the 2016 presidential election is completely unlikely and the true reasoning would come in the answer of Hillary Clinton.
Carter agreed with President Trump that pro sports players should stand during the anthem. His exact words were, “I think they ought to find a different way to object, to demonstrate. I would rather see all the players stand during the American anthem.”
Carter upheld President Trump’s contention that Washington politicians, especially Obama, have failed us. His exact words were, “He [Obama] made some very wonderful statements, in my opinion, when he first got in office, and then he reneged on that.”
As for the suggestion behind so much of the anti-Trump hysteria that Russia flipped the election to him Carter responded, “I don’t think there’s any evidence that what the Russians did changed enough votes, or any votes.”
Then there was this little tidbit of information that puts the lie to Hillary’s blame tour. Carter admitted that he and his wife both voted for Bernie Sanders. Savor that for a moment, Jimmy Carter couldn’t bring himself to vote for the only Democrat in the race.
