President Donald Trump gave his first Sate of the Union address this last Tuesday.
HIs speech was favored by over 75 percent of the people who had watched, according to a CBS poll. However, there were still those who were skeptics and disapproved. Now we have a Campus Reform heading to John Jay College in NYC to speak to students who did not approve of President Trump’s speech by asking them to respond to a few quotes.
The students felt the the quotations asked were “warmongering,” aggressive,” and “immature.” Little did the students know that the quotes were actually taken from President Obama’s State of the Union addresses. Its interesting to see how they reacted when they found out it was President Obama, not Donald Trump, who had actually made these remarks they disapproved of…
Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips hit the streets to see what students and passers-by thought of some State of the Union quotes. But here’s the kicker: He told them they were President Donald Trump’s quotes when they were actually former President Barack Obama’s.
The video shows those being interviewed immediately jumping to conclusions and slamming what was said. After Phillips read a quote about destroying ISIS, a man responded, “Well, first off, ISIS is fake. It’s something the government made up so they can continue doing what they want to do, which is world domination.”
Phillips read another quote that said, “Our reach has no limit,” and a man responded, “He’s got small hands, so I don’t know about his reach.” Another woman weighed in and said, “It’s like he doesn’t think before speaking and how it’s going to offend a lot of people.”
Another woman said, “The way that he approaches things is very aggressive, and that’s not the best way to approach situations.”
When Phillips then told them that they were actually Obama’s quotes, those being interviewed agreed he isn’t treated fairly and that people shouldn’t jump to conclusions.
